The Evacuation Alert: that was issued for Low-lying Properties along Parts of Shuswap River; Issued June 19, 2012 remains in effect. Recent rain and snowmelt continues to contribute to a steady rise in water levels in North Okanagan lakes and streams. As such, an Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Regional District of North Okanagan for: All low-lying properties subject to potential flooding along the Shuswap River flowing south and west from Sugar Lake to Mabel Lake; and All low-lying properties along the Shuswap River flowing west and north from Mabel Lake to Mara Lake.

As of this morning, the level of water in Shuswap Lake is the 4th highest in recorded history! And with all the recent rain, which doesn't seem to want to go away, we could go even higher.
