the Malakwa Community Centre Association has recently negotiated a contract with school district 83 to lease the former Malakwa Elementary School and operate a multi-use facility now known as the Malakwa Community Learning Centre.
Already operating is the Self-Design Learning program an on-line accredited learning program which currently has 17 children and a licensed teacher.
We also have college courses being taught there and hope to soon have art groups, excersize groups, theatre/dance/music etc. whatever you would like to take or teach - let us know.
Future plans, hopefully, also include a public library, resource/employment centre/ day care, health clinics,
