The Shuswap Events Bulletin Board was developed by Lynx Technical Solutions, over a period of 6 months, and launched in February of 2010.

They found that event information for Salmon Arm, and surrounding areas, was scattered, and often no one knew exactly where to look to find all relevant information. A centralized event repository where the people and businesses of the Shuswap could add their own events was then created.

Curious to know when all the Markets are occurring within the Shuswap? Click on the Events menu at the top, then on the Markets option. Want to just see all Sports related events? Click on the Sports option. Or you can drill down to just one type of sport, such as Ringette.

Signing up for an account, and adding events, is currently a completely free service. Once you sign up for an account you can set up your profile, including uploading an avatar image. From your account, there are preferences for setting your preferred level of privacy. You can choose to display your name and contact information, or keep it all private. The public who wish to receive more information on an event, can then send you a private message, which will appear within your Members Area.

Our goal is to make the Bulletin Board accessible to everyone: individuals, and businesses, both large & small, and to help bring together the Shuswap. Use our site to help promote yours, and direct traffic of potential customers.

Want to display your own events on your business's web site, without having to enter in the information twice? A simple WebService API has now been created for the Shuswap Events Bulletin Board. With a small chunk of code you can now insert a calendar, or a list of your events, for the date range of your choice, into any page.

A membership with the Shuswap Events Bulletin Board is required, as well as a special access key. To receive a key, contact the Web Administrator. You will also receive an instructions document on how to insert the code, and what information to pass to the API. Or contact us for help.

There are 2 size of adverts available.

• Vertical: up to 140pixels wide and 300 pixels tall. These are shown randomly on the right side bar of all public viewed pages.
• Banner: up to 800 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall. These are shown randomly across the bottom of all public viewed pages.

A random sampling of advertisements will also be included in the weekly PDF, that is sent out with our newsletters on Thursdays.
