Local NewsImagine a lucent Saturday morning. The wind is lightly tickling the Thompson River as she laughs and dances to her own mysterious melodies. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? This is exactly the type of day that Square Dancers from Kamloops, Blind Bay, Salmon Arm, Enderby and Vernon were hoping for as they gathered on August 17th. Eighteen dancers, in seven canoes and five kayaks, came together to participate in the 11th Annual Banana Island Canoe Trip from Chase to Pritchard. Spirits were light and there was friendly banter aplenty as the adventurers looked forward to a lazy-day drift down the river.
